Obituary

Zelma Louise Milhoan Bierwind

age 87, of Minerva, Ohio, passed away on Thanksgiving night, November 24, 2022 at Aultman Hospital.  She was born in Barnesville, Ohio on May 13, 1935 to the late Forest and Sylvia (Atkinson) Milhoan.  Zelma had many jobs in her younger days including Merit Plastics in East Canton and Tozzi's Convenience Store in Magnolia.  She was also the former owner of Zips Convenience Store in East Sparta.  More than anything, Zelma enjoyed taking care of children and helped raise multiple generations of kids over the years.  Zelma came from a strong military family and was always proud to share stories of her brothers and brothers-in-law during their military service.   Zelma loved people, playing Bingo, and BBQ ribs from Hog Heaven.

Besides her parents, Zelma is preceded in death by her husband, the late Philipp L. Bierwind, a daughter, Lisa Julian, a daughter-in-law, Janie Meeker, a son-in-law, Dave Ulrich, an infant granddaughter, Tina Marie Mallett, and a grandson, Phillipp Baker.  Zelma is also preceded in death by her sister, Lois Lucas, and her brothers, Vernon, Edward, Charles, and Samuel Milhoan. She is survived by her four children, Glenn (Pam) Meeker of Minerva, OH, Patty Ulrich of Alliance, OH, Kenneth Meeker of Minerva, OH, Christine (Bill) Mayhew of Pittsburgh, PA; a son-in-law John Julian of Waynesburg, OH; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Zelma is also survived by her sisters Janita Clark, Nancy Ross, Susan Rush and brothers Howard, Forest, and David as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her.

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
