Winifred Stryffeler
of Minerva, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 on her 90th birthday, in St. Lukes Lutheran Community in Minerva. She was born May 31, 1925 in Alliance to Morris and Mary "Mamie" (Marckel) Betz. She had worked for Denny's Market in Minerva for 23 years in the meat department and is a member of the Minerva First Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Elio "Tony" Sacconi who died in 1958 and Louis Stryffeler who died in 2014, 6 sisters; Valois Unkefer, Beatrice Crowl, Marjorie Unkefer, Jeannette Unkefer, Kathryn Robinson and Evelyn McKee, 4 brothers; Dwight, Kenneth, Elwood and Clifford Betz.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Debbie (Alden) Weichel of Bradenton, FL and Denise (John) Santangelo of Wooster, 5 sons; Laverne Kandel of Austintown, Bruce (Donna) Kandel of Malvern, Danny (Gina) Sacconi of Christiansburg, VA, Donald (Susan) Stryffeler of Minerva and Keith (Rhonda) Unkefer of Fairport Harbor, a sister, Martha Jane Steinmetz of Minerva, 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Dale Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6-8 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Minerva First Christian Church.
