William I. Yerger
Age 90 of Youngstown died Sat. Jan. 12, 2013 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1922 in Reading, PA to Lott and Alice (Keller) Yerger. He retired from GTE in Minerva where he was an Installer and Repairman. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran and member of the Malvern American Legion Post #375, Minerva VFW Post #4120 and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He loved to play pool and played on several local leagues in the Youngstown area and was a member of the American Pool Association.
He is survived by his loving companion Georgetta Grafton with whom he resided, sons, Roger (Patty) Yerger of PA, Robert (Marsha) Yerger of PA, 2 sisters, Margaret Messner and Betty Eckenroth both of PA, 2 brothers, Harvey and Carl Yerger both of PA, 3 grandchildren, Roger Jr., Patrick and Bob, and 4 great grandchildren, Victoria, Roger III, Jorden and Lauren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene (Dorsey) Yerger, son, Richard Yerger, sister, Dorothy Glase, 2 brothers, Lott "Sonny" and Alvin Yerger, and a grandson Ricky Yerger.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12:00 noon in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 pm in the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers and 2 hours prior to services on Wednesday in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.
