William Robert Reckner
Born January 31, 1932, died on Saturday, February 8, 2020. He was a Sargent in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from J&L Steel Mill in Louisville, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jimmi Lee Reckner, his sisters, Wanda Gailey and Shirley Fletcher, and his brother, Joh Wesley Reckner. Also preceded in death by his youngest son, Samuel Jay Reckner, who died February 8, 2017, and his grandson, Patrick James Humphrey, Feb. 12, 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Carole (Hewitt) Reckner, his loving "first wife" of sixty-four years and his sisters, Betty (Ron) Pease, and Mikie Haigh.
He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn (Matt) Humphrey, Carolyn French and son, Bill (Tammy) Reckner. Grandchildren, Mike (Liz) Myers, Jason Reckner, Jeremy (Leeann) Reckner, Justin (Danielle) Reckner, Jessica Reckner, and Jacob (Eleana) Reckner, Matthew Nicholas and Mary Jane Humphrey, Damon, Devon and Jordan Reckner. Five great grandchildren, Vinny, Keegan, Eli, Adrienne and Lilianna Reckner.
Services will be held at the Minerva First Christian Church on Tuesday, February 11 th at 11:00 a.m. with Dale Roberts officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Liberty Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Minerva First Christian Church.
