William N. Hardy, age 84, of Minerva, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 in Minerva Eldercare.  He was born Aug. 13, 1929 in Altoona, PA to Gordon and Zella (Bennett) Hardy.  He retired from Hercules Engine and later worked in security for 16 years.  He is a member of the Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, June (Dourm) Hardy whom he married Nov. 1, 1948; daughter, Sharon (Jake) Keister of Minerva; son, Trey (Beth Anne) Hardy of Columbus; sister, Connie Haring of Akron; 4 granddaughters, Tara (Scott) Carrell of N. Canton, Amie First of Orlando, FL, Shanna  First of Minerva, Elizabeth Hardy, of Columbus;  grandson, Garrett Hardy of Columbus; 5 great granddaughters, 1 great grandson, 2 great-great granddaughters and 2 great-great grandsons.  He is preceded in death by a son, Douglas Hardy.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 pm in the Augusta Christian Church with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating.  Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Thursday 6-8 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com .
