William C. Boyer

Age 90, of Minerva, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton. He was born July 1, 1931 in Canton to Clifford and Grace (Smith) Boyer. He retired from the East Ohio Gas Company where he had worked for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Malvern, graduated from Canton South High School in 1949 and was a US Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He was a volunteer in the Scouting world for over 10 years and was a private pilot.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janet (Ecksmith) Boyer whom he married March 22, 1957, 3 sons, Doug (Cyndi) Boyer of Minerva, Keith (Michele) Boyer of Uniontown, Steve (MaryKay) Boyer of Marysville, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by a son, Greg Boyer and a sister, Ruth Sewell.

Funeral services will be Monday at 12 noon in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Father Victor Cinson officiating. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens in Minerva.  Calling hours will be Monday one hour prior to services from 11-12 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
