Obituary

Wilbur Moser, 88, died peacefully on November 3, 2014, following several illnesses.

Wilbur was born June 29, 1926 in Minerva, Ohio to Corwin Moser and Nora Yost Moser. He served his country honorably for 25 years as an Army infantry rifleman in Japan, a Navy crewman and maintenance man in anti-submarine helicopters, and 19 years in the Air Force in aircraft and missiles, retiring from the Air Force in 1973. He began his second career as a dairy farmer in Minerva, Ohio. During this period he attended Stark College in Canton, Ohio and received his degree in electrical engineering. Following that, he began a third career as an engineer for American Electric Power in Columbus, Ohio for 15 years, retiring in 1991. His passion for aviation led to his going to flight training school and receiving a pilot's license and purchasing a small plane, which he enjoyed flying in the local area and on short interstate trips. He and his wife Pat became snowbirds, splitting their time between Minerva, Ohio and Frostproof, Florida. He spent much of his time volunteering in both places at various hospitals, blood drives, meal delivery, the Nature Conservancy, and Habitat for Humanity. He went on several annual trips to Israel as a volunteer for archaeological digs.

He was married to the former Patricia Butler for 51 years, prior to her death in 2004. He was also predeceased by his son, Michael Moser, in 1987 and his sister, Nellie Moser. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Krinsky of California; son, David Moser of Streetsboro, Ohio, son Timothy Moser of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as well as 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Ruth Felger and Mamie Custer; and brothers Robert Moser, Corwin Moser and Kenneth Moser.

Per Wilbur's wishes, following cremation, there will be no formal services.
