Verna E. McLean

Age 79, of Malvern, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 in Mercy Medical Center from congestive heart failure. She was born June 30, 1938 in Caldwell to Francis and Margaret (Rupple) Schafer. She had worked for Structural Stoneware in Minerva and Consumer's National Bank. She is a 1957 graduate of Malvern High School and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dale C. McLean whom she married March 14, 1959, son, Michael (Lori) McLean of Malvern, daughter, Malinda (Shaun) McCloskey of Powell, 6 grandchildren; Chance and Kayla Terrill, Ian and Emma McLean, Cameron and Kiera McCloskey, 3 great grandchildren; Grayson, Edan and Cayden and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Dorothy Burwell, Rita Evans, Ellan Harsh and a brother, Norman Schaffer.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:00 am in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday 5-7 pm AT THE CHURCH with a wake service at 6:45 pm, and one hour prior to services on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the church hall construction fund.
