Vera Overholt, age 63, of Minerva, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 in her home. She was born November 8, 1948 in Hartville to Victor Overholt of Minerva and the late Emma (Raber) Overholt. She retired in 2002 as a schoolteacher for the Minerva Christian School where she had taught for 31 years. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Polio Support Group of Canton and International Continental God Is Love Ministries of Carrollton. She was also a graduate of Minerva High School in 1967 and Kent State University.
In addition to her father and his wife Judy (Sommers), she is survived by siblings, Ruth (Johnny) Miller of Minerva, Fred (Bernadine) Overholt of East Rochester, Leon (Ida Mae) Overholt of McVeytown, PA, Lena (Olen) Yoder of Minerva with whom she resided, JoAnn (Chris) Inhulsen of Montezuma, Georgia, Delilah (Lonnie) Beachy of Plain City, OH, Judy (David) Miller of Minerva, David (Wilma) Overholt of Minerva, and Dwayne (Kathy) Overholt of Salisbury, PA.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Overholt.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, February 25 at the Minerva Christian Fellowship Church near East Rochester from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m. in the First Christian Church in Minerva. Burial will be in the Minerva Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery near East Rochester immediately following the funeral service. All friends and family are welcome to a meal served at the Christian Fellowship Church following burial.
