Van Lee Arnold, age 49 of Minerva and formerly Indianapolis, IN, died Sat. Aug. 6, 2011 in the Cleveland Clinic. He as born Feb. 6, 1962 in Canton to Ray and Marilyn (Keller) Arnold of Minerva. He worked for the Diamond Chain Company in Indianapolis, IN. He was a 1980 graduate of Minerva High School. He was the owner and bass player in the Band "Alibi" and "Stone Hollow" Band in Indianapolis. He was an avid dart player and performed for several years in the Firehouse Theater in Alliance.
In addition to his mother and father he is survived by a sister, Vicky Sargent of Anchorage, Alaska; friend, Lilias Surprenant of Indianapoli, IN; aunts and uncles, Bob Wilkin of Sebring, Ella Wilson of Southington, OH and Betty Arnold of Marlboro; three nieces and nephews, Victor, Andrew and Anna Sargent of Anchorage, Alaska; and cousins, Julie (Pat) Toot of Canton, Debbie Hilliard of Alliance, Chris Wilson of Southington, Tim (Candace) Arnold of Canton, Lori (Bob) Nyland of Canton, Dean (Denise) Arnold of Medina and Tammy (Tim) Roberts of Marlboro.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Sat., Aug. 20th at 2:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Calling hours will be 2 hours prior to services from noon to 2pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America.
