Tim Hertel

age 56, of Minerva passed away on September 7, 2022 at home surrounded by his family and friends after a two-year battle with cancer. He was born May 5, 1966 in Canton, the son of the late Sue (Russell) and Carl Hertel. He lived his entire life in Minerva having graduated from Minerva High School in 1984 and received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Illustrations from Kent State University in 1989.

He was a graphic designer for the past 33 years and was the owner of Hertel Design. Tim enjoyed being involved with his children's sports and activities and was an avid vintage car collector. He had many passions: his family, friends, his work and cars, and his beloved pets.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Kathy (Bettis) Hertel whom he married May 20, 1989; his daughter Sydni of Kent; his son Evan and girlfriend Emilly of Kent; brother Russell (Jessica) Hertel of Minerva; sister Tara (Mike) Kenny of Alliance; nephews Shay Hertel and Ki Hertel; 4 great nephews; and his loving fur buddies Black Kitty, Pete and Simon. Of special mention are the many connections he and Kathy made with the nursing staff of Seidman 4 at University Hospital these past three months.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Doris Bettis, and his faithful fury companions Cloe, Bitty, Louie and Baby Kitty.
