Thomas L. Hawkins, Age 89, of Minerva, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016. He was born May 3, 1927 in New Franklin to Morris and Mary (Crowl) Hawkins. He retired from the Stark County Commissioners where he was shop foreman and was co-owner of Minerva Motors from 1960-1975. He is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minerva. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1945, and was a WWII US Army Veteran, member of Minerva VFW Post #4120, former Minerva Eagles and the Penn-Ohio Model A Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan (Barry) Catlett of Huron, son, Jeff (Tam) Hawkins of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and six grandchildren; Andrea (Brian) Aller, Amanda (Paul) Hasenmeier, Brett (Julia) Catlett, Ryan (Vedrana) Hawkins, Eric (Caitlyn) Hawkins and Brittany Hawkins, nine great grandchildren, Kylie, Kennedy, Khloe, Ava, Ella, Brynn, Brady, Luke and Cooper. He is preceded in death by a sister, Martha Gartner and parents, Morris and Mary Hawkins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minerva with Rev. Joseph Ertl officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial Donations can be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
