Thomas "Burnsy" Burns
Age 75, of Minerva, died Saturday, April 27, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 20, 1943 in Salineville, to Blaise and Callie (Campbell) Burns. He retired from PCC Airfoils in Minerva where he was a sandblaster for 43 years. Tom was an avid sports fan and spent many years active with the Minerva sports programs, was a member of the Minerva Athletic Booster Club and worked the bingo tent for many years at the Minerva Homecoming. He attended all the Minerva sporting events, and spent a lot of time working the gate and mentoring numerous young athletes. He was a big Steeler Fan. He never met a stranger and his family meant the world to him and he was always the life of the party.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Preston) Burns whom he married Sept. 13, 1980, 2 daughters, Tracy (Larry) Evans of Minerva, Penny Zamborsky of Mayfield Heights, 4 grandchildren; Ashley (Jeff) Klingelsmith, Andrew Scott, Charm Evans and Holly (Cody) Kincaid, 4 great grandchildren; Grace, Claira, Emma and Leea, 2 sisters, Mary Perorazio, Joyce Stein, 2 brothers, Mike (Patty) Burns, Robert Burns (Louise Rose), and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Smith, 2 sisters, Deloris Sevek, and an infant sister, Alice Burns.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Mr. Jerry Rinehart officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 4:30 to 7:30pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
