Steven G. Williams

Age 60, of Minerva, died Thursday, July 21, 2022 in the Cleveland Clinic. He was born Nov. 27, 1961 in Canton to the late George and Jacqueline (Reifsnyder) Williams. He worked for BTI in Carrollton. As an avid and successful athlete, he graduated from Carrollton High School in 1980, where he played both football and basketball, and attended Mount Union University. He is a member of the East Canton Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (Toomey) Williams whom he married May 14, 2000, 6 children, Mandy Mercer of Carrollton, Michael Mercer of Chester, WV, Tyler Williams of Thailand, Tailer Williams of Canton, Melissa Mercer of Chester, WV, Matthew Mercer of Chester, WV, sister, Launa (Kevin) Merrick of Magnolia, 4 grandchildren, Khalei, Kendall, Amila and Reign.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline (Reifsnyder) Williams, father, George Williams, and brother, Mark Williams.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, from 6-8 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 2 ^nd 11:30 am in the East Canton Church of God with Rev. Greg Smith officiating.
