Stanley E. Smith
Age 97, of Minerva, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in the Minerva Eldercare Center. He was born March 16, 1919 in Dellroy to William and Sarah (Reeves) Smith. He retired from Stark Ceramics and had worked for Hollywood Brands in Malvern. He is a WWII US Army Air Corp Veteran. He attended the Louisville First Baptist Church and is a member of the Malvern United Methodist Church where he was a trustee for many years.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (Champion) Smith who died in 2008; infant son, Kirk Smith and a sister, Mary Hodge. He is survived by 4 daughters, Elaine Smith of Paris, Barbara (Glenn) Haverstock of Marietta, GA, Charlene Moser of Malvern, Amy Smith of Canton; 2 sons, Duane (Carol) Smith of Paris and Chad (Nancy) Smith of Malvern; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:00 pm at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Ron Mayberry officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday two hours prior to services from 1-3 pm at the funeral home.
