Shirley L. Starkey

Age 85, of East Canton, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2014 at Aultman Hospital.  She was born May 15, 1928 in Canton to the late Clark and Katherine (Reiter) Hutchman.  A dedicated mother and wife, she also worked for Minerva Local Schools for 17 years and was a long time member of the Robertsville Christ Memorial Church, the Central Ohio Saddle Club, Canton Ski Club and an avid golfer and gardener.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 61 years, Robert J. Starkey, Sr.; beloved daughter, Tana Revere; sisters, Evelyn Hannah, Marie Laughery, Katherine Hutchman, Florence Murphy and Fern Humes; brothers, Edward, William "Irish", Lawrence "Barney" and Clark Hutchman.  She is survived by sons, Tary Starkey of Robertsville and Robert (Anne) Starkey of Dublin; brother, Jerry Hutchman of Vancouver, Washington; grandchildren: Daniel, Mason, Connor, Shaylin, Garrett and Shandal and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Robertsville Christ Memorial Church followed by a graveside service at the Robertsville Cemetery.  The family wishes to thank everyone for their sympathy and support.
