Shirley J. Perkins

age 74, of Minerva died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in Mercy Medical Center. She was born June 10, 1943 in Grafton, WV to Robert and Aretha (Cox) Slaton. She was a homemaker and graduated from Grafton High School.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Perkins who died Dec. 3, 2004, 2 sisters, Katheryn Anguish and Frances Finley and 3 brothers, Paul, Harry and Bobby Slaton. She is survived by 2 daughters, Veronica Ray of Malvern, Michele Thompson of Carrollton, son, Mark Perkins of Minerva, 3 sisters, Helen McDaniel of Carrollton, Dolly Smith of Grafton, WV and Patty Tacy of Minerva, 3 brothers, Jimmy (Doris) Slaton of FL, Donnie Slaton of Grafton, WV, Kenny (Marie) Slaton of Minerva, 11 grandchildren, and 6 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating.  Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 12 noon to 2 pm prior to services on Friday.
