Sherry A. Valentine
Age 64, of Minerva, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 in the Laurels of Massillon. She was born Sept. 14, 1951 in Canton to the late Emil and Helen (Myers) Hank. She was co-owner and Secretary/Treasurer of American Road Machinery Inc. in Minerva and was a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. She is a member of St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral in Canton and St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva. She graduated from St. Edward High School in Carrollton and Ridel College and is a member of the Buckeye Corvette Club. She was a leader of life with strength and class who loved her family, her community and all her friends. She selflessly gave of herself for others, loved God and taught her kids and grandkids to love hard and without apology. Sherry was eternally positive, wrote many meaningful personal notes, encouraged family and those in her path to reach for the stars and never, never give up. She will be forever missed.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Valentine whom she married May 19, 1973, daughter, Megan Valentine of Westerville, OH, son, Matthew (Michelle) Valentine of Green, OH, sister, Janice (Lois Hirshberg) Hank of Marstons Mills, MA., brother, E. David Hank of Lake Mohawk, 4 grandchildren, Alexandria, Cameron, Sebastian and Emilia Valentine. She is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Hank.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in the St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral in Canton with the Very Rev. Ovidiu Marginean officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Minerva. Calling hours will be Monday from 5-8 pm (with Saracusta services from 7:30-8pm) and on Tuesday one hour prior to the 10:00am divine liturgy in the St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral.
