Shelby (Hawkins) (Truxall) Baxter
Age 76, of Minerva, died Friday, August 12, 2016. She was born Nov. 19, 1939 in Marietta to William and Elsie (Williams) Hawkins. She retired from Minerva Local Schools where she was a cook in the cafeteria for 25 years. She graduated from Malvern High School in 1958 and is a member of the Minerva First Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, William Truxall in 2004 and Richard Baxter in 2012, 2 sons, Lynn Truxall and Ty Truxall, 2 sisters, Elsie Crawford, Florence Johnson, 7 brothers, Tom, Harold, John, Elmo, Bobby, Charlie, Clyde Hawkins, and 2 great granddaughters, Natalee and Lyla Rodgers. She is survived by daughter, Carla (Gary) McCourry of Minerva, son, Jeff (Launa) Truxall of Minerva, 3 sisters, Elizabeth Myers of East Canton, Helen Smith of Malvern, Linda (Danny) Grimes of Carrollton, 2 brothers, William (Carol) Hawkins of Okatey, SC, Michael Hawkins of Carrollton, 4 grandchildren, Josh (Heidi) Truxall of Minerva, Lauren (Nate) Rodgers of Homeworth, Katie Truxall of Alliance, Rachel McCourry of Minerva, 2 great granddaughters, Laynee Rodgers and Amelia Truxall and 2 special friends Delores McCully and Bev Scott.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in Bethlehem Cemetery in Malvern with Pastor Dale Roberts and Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-8 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
