Shawn R. Underwood

Age 61, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 1, 2026. She was born October 6, 1964, in Pensacola, Florida, to Larry Hayden and Mary Lou (Beech) Weick. She was a 1983 graduate of West Branch High School and devoted 26 years to serving as a teacher’s aide at both West Branch and Alliance City Schools. She was a devoted member of Greenford Christian Church, where her faith was a cherished part of her life.

She is survived by her husband, David Underwood whom she married Oct. 26, 1985, sons, Michael (Katie) Underwood of Louisville, Steven (Rebecca Gyoker) Underwood of Louisville, father and stepmother, Larry and Cindy Hayden of Venice, FL, mother and stepfather, Mary Lou (Ron) Weick of Sebring, sister, Laurie (Keith) Nicholson of Bonita Springs, FL, brothers, Brad (Julie) Hayden of Plain City, Gene (Rhonda) Hayden of Nokomis, FL, Larry (Becky) Hayden Jr. of Bradenton, FL and 2 grandchildren, William and Charlotte. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Underwood.

A private graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2: 00 p.m. in the Highland Memorial Park with Sheldon Devries officiating.
