Calling hours for Scott Anthony Monter will be held from 2:00-4:00pm on Saturday October, 1, 2022 at Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home, 206 E Lincoln Way, Minerva, OH 44657.
Scott was a graduate of Minerva High School in 1973 where he participated in FFA, 4-H, and wrestling. Scott held many jobs throughout his life, including hammerman at Transue-Williams, and salesman of saddles, riding equipment, and western wear. His most passionate endeavor was being a charter boat first mate on Lake Erie, where he loved sharing his knowledge with young Captains, and loved helping tourists catch walleye and yellow perch almost as much as he loved catching them himself. Scott was no stranger to heartache as a life-long passionate fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians (Guardians), and Cavaliers; he wore their wins and losses on his sleeve as a member of the Oak Harbor Browns Backers club. Scott was the life of every party, had the gift of being a wild storyteller, and could strike up a conversation with anyone. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing, reading, mushroom hunting, and watching sports.
Scott is survived by his son Scott V. Monter, siblings, Steve Monter, Susan (Monter) McQuade, Stacy Monter, and many nephews, cousins, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Martha, his sister Sharon (Monter) Gram, and his brother Sandy Monter. Scott was a loving father and friend to everyone.
