Sara M. Pumphrey

Age 89, of North Canton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton. She was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Malvern to Gregory and Katharine (Booth) Casper.  She graduated from Malvern High School, and worked many years for Ohio Bell and AT&T from where she retired. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Malvern, and St. Michael's of North Canton.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Pumphrey of 66 years who died May 5th of this year; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-laws, Dorothy (Greg) Sarafini, Flora Casper, Marie (Elmer) Kocher; and 3 brothers and 3 sisters-in -laws, Joseph (Margaret) Casper, David (Mary Jo) Casper and James (Jeanie) Casper.  She is survived by 1 brother and sister-in-law, Gregory (Helen) Casper of North Carolina; goddaughter, Stacey (Craig) Hamric of Akron; close friends, Frank (Kathy) Tuzzio of Lakewood; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

She loved shopping, playing euchre, bingo, watching The Cleveland Guardians, The Cleveland Cavaliers, and The Pittsburgh Steelers.

Following cremation, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Malvern with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register book at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
