Sandy M. Monter "Sandman"

Age 60, of Alliance, died Thursday, July 28, 2022. He was born January 18, 1962, in Canton, Ohio to James and Martha (Ridgeway) Monter, both deceased. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1980 where he was part of the wrestling team through his senior year. He was also a member of the 4-H Club "The Buckaroos" Saddle Club competing at horse shows in barrel racing and other timed events and showed Holsteins from the family farm.

After graduating from Airco Technical Institute as a welder, he spent most of his life as an iron worker. For several years, he trimmed cow's hooves creating a firm foundation for many dairy farms in the local area.

He is survived by two sons, Mason and Landon Monter, sisters, Sharon Gram (deceased) and brother-in-law, Terry Gram, Susan (Todd) McQuade, and three brothers, Scott Monter, Stephen Monter, and Stacy (Sharon) Monter. Nephews, Cory (Alfredo) Fragoso-Gram, Curtis (Rachael) Gram, Scott (Liz) Monter, Jason Monter, John (Sondra) Monter, and Ayedin Monter, with many family members and friends, and best friend and "brother from another mother", Ralph Williamson.

One of his favorite sayings was "next time is the best time". The next time we see you will be the best time.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held Monday, August 8, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.
