Ruth Weaver

Age 100, of Sebring, died Sunday, May 9, 2021 in the Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 27, 1920 in Hanoverton to Harry and Mina (Davidson) Tank. She was a housewife and Secretary for Benson Typewriter in Canton.  She had also worked for Henry's Hat Shop and Wilson Bakery in Minerva. She is a member of the Minerva First Christian Church, graduated from Clarington High School in 1938, attended Canton Actual Business College, member of the Christian Women's Club of Salem, Greely Grange and the Minerva Senior Citizens. She was known as the "Cookie Lady" at Copeland Oaks and was very proud to be 100 years old.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arland Weaver who died in 1994; son, Walter Weaver; 3 sisters, Margaret Minamyer, Martha Jane McIntire and Bernice Gerber; brother, James Harold Tank and a grandson. She is survived by 2 daughters, Betty Herron of Salem, Mary Ellen (Sam) Phillis of Salem; a son, Dan (Faye Ellen) Weaver of Birchwood, TN; daughter-in-law, Elaine Weaver of Sebring; sister, Betty Dunn of Clarington; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 13 th , at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours will be Wednesday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
