Ruth Pearl Ferris

Ruth Pearl (Guthrie) Ferris went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 5, 2011. She was 90 years old. She was an invalid for the past 6 years having suffered several strokes. She was lovingly cared for by her daughter Cynthia Bellamy and her husband Lee at their home in Dade City, Florida.

Ruth was born in Minerva on November 3, 1920 to Albert and Olive(King) Guthrie. She graduated from Minerva High School in 1938. She was married to Charles Ferris(deceased January 24,05) on October 24, 1941. They were married for 63 years. Ruth was a homemaker(stay at home Mom) mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had one significant job outside her home during her lifetime and that was with Blanchard's Fabric Center. This lasted a little over 10 years. A job she really enjoyed.

She was a long time member of the First Church of God where she taught Sunday school for many years. In the short period prior to the death of her husband she attended the Family Christian Center in Canton. She was also honored to be part of the Daughters of the Revolutionary War.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Cynthia and son-in-law Lee Bellamy of Dade City, Florida: son Chris and daughter-in-law Judy of Carmel, IN: three grandchildren: Jeremy Ferris DC(wife Amy) of Fishers, IN, Matthew Ferris DC(wife Ashley) of Fishers, IN and Mrs. Quentin (Melissa) Law of Columbus, IN. Six great grandchildren: Kassidy and Chaney(Jeremy), Levi and Rachel(Matthew), and Drew and Grayson(Melissa).

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles and two brothers Don and Robert Guthrie

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral home in Minerva with Rev. Fred Bays officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 7 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.
