Roy Clark, age 92, of Minerva, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 surrounded by his family after an extended illness. He was born January 15, 1920 in Brown Township, Ohio to Homer and Mary Lucille (Eckley) Clark. He was the owner of Perdue Printing, and had previously worked at Good Roads Machine. Roy retired as bus driver for Minerva Local Schools and member of the Minerva Volunteer Fire Department after 37 years. He a US Army veteran of WWII, a lifetime member of the Minerva Lions Club and Greeley Grange, a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a 1938 graduate of Minerva High School. He also worked for Minerva Ambulance and the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home for many years.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Perdue who died October 15, 1992; 2 sisters, Beatrice White, Jeanne L. Clark; a brother, Robert A. Clark; a grandson Todd Hunston.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Jeanne (Tim) Hunston of Minerva, Barb Clark of Minerva, Pat (Rob) Yeagley of Minerva; 2 Sisters, Virginia Geiselman of Walhonding, Ohio, Marian Cocos of Minerva; 3 Grandchildren, Amy (Brad) Hooser of Minerva, Brett (Christy) Yeagley of Minerva, Ashley (Kent) Hamilton of Canton; 3 Great Grandchildren, Avery and Carys Hooser, and Callie Yeagley; and by special nieces, nephews, cousins, and caregivers Debbie and Robin.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Woyen officiating.
Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to Minerva Vol. Firemen Association, St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Tri- County Community Hospice.
