Obituary

Ronald E. Whiteleather , age 71, of Orlando, FL, passed away on Tuesday January 3, 2023

at Advent Health in Deland, FL. He was born September 11, 1951 to the late Harry Whiteleather and Ellen Mae Rasey in Orlando, FL. He was an intelligent, gentle and kind person. Upon graduation from Meritt Island High School, he worked in grocery stores prior and during the college years. He received both a Bachelor of Science and Master's degree of business administration from University of Montana in 1979 in four years. He started working for Hewett Packard Enterprise in 1979, As software engineer. He developed HP printers software and foreseeing the hardware production and improvements.

In the Spring of 2000, he joined Professo Inc. in downtown of New York City. After 911, Professo withdrew to France, and he continued his work in Saint-Etienne, France.  In 2003 he worked in Harlem United. He wrote the online patient and research system single handed. This system has been used for over 20 years. In 2015 he was appointed as senior software engineer in R&D department of Dynamic Logic. He developed an online advertisement campaign to collect data from various clients advertisement campaign and did quantitative and qualitative analysis. Many online survey and data collection to analytical results are his products. He would respond the survey routed to him. Because he knows how important the data to clients is. He was vice president since 2008 until he retired from Kantar Millward Brown (Dynamic Logic was merged to) on April 1, 2016. Upon retirement, he and Ms. Ho continued doing consulting work for various firms until the fall of 2019.

Mr. Whiteleather was a good problem analyzer in providing appropriate solutions. The new technology was taking to his software in the same manner. When colleges approached him with problems he always handled it calmly. After deep thinking and research he provided solutions. He has been greatly respected and loved by his colleagues.

He loved nature and outdoor activities. He played soccer, softball, tennis, golf, table tennis etc. He liked hiking, walking, bicycling and skiing. He was the pitcher of the Dynamic Logic softball team. Through the decades he and his partner traveled around the world, Skiing, hiking, driving. He enjoyed the arts and music dearly. He played drums in Merritt High School marching band. He always liked pop, country, hardrock, softrock, new age music. He appreciated classic music greatly too. He enjoyed planting. Every spring, he started the garden with various vegetables seedlings.

I don't think I've ever seen him angry or even mildly frustrated!" by Dimitri. "Ron will live in our rest of life. RIP Ron. I will always remember your kindness and humor." by Kunshan.

He is preceded in death of his parents and a niece Karen Whiteleather. He is survived by his partner, Leeling Ho, brother Ken (Michelle) Whiteleather, cousins Linda Rasey, Kathy Rasey, Randall Rasey, nephew Kevin Whiteleather, niece Sarah Whiteleather, several great nephews and great niece, and the families of Marjorie and Ludwig Whiteleather.

Following services in Florida, a funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 16 th at 2:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Wally Anderson officiating.  Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services from 1-2 pm in the funeral home.
