Robert L. Parker
Age 81 of Magnolia, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 in his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1930 in Spencer, WV to Edward and Mandy (Rhodes) Parker. He was a farmer, and had worked for Schumacher Lumber in Hartville, was a custodian for Lake High School and the Massillon Christian School. He is a member of the Sandy Valley Baptist Temple where he was a former custodian, Elder and Deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy (Carmichael) Parker whom he married Nov. 14, 1954, daughter, Gay Parker of Carrollton, 2 sons, Dustin (Chris) Parker of Mount Sterling, OH and Michael (Anna) Parker of Salem, WV; 3 sisters, Blanche, Macel and May, 5 grandchildren, Charity (Craig) Patterson, Amie Parker and fiancée James Chapman, Eric Parker and fiancée Lydia Yaekle, Heather Parker and Tony Parker, and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Sandy Valley Baptist Temple with Pastor Matt Smith officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 6-8 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Hospice.
