Robert L. Ackerman Sr.

Age 79, of East Canton, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026. He was born June 2, 1947 in Canton to Andrew and Agnes (Crowl) Ackerman. He was an engineer with ConRail Railroad for many years and then became a Bail Bondsman in 1995. A man of deep faith, he is a member of the Augusta Lodge #504 F&AM.

He is preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Mary E. (Cayton) Ackerman who died May 2, 2025, 2 sisters, Kay Proctor, JoAnne Ackerman, 3 brothers, Walter, Daniel and William Ackerman and a great grandson, Joey. He is survived by 3 children, Bob (Amanda) Ackerman Jr. of Waynesburg, Rebecca (Bob) Flint of Diamond, Andy Ackerman of Louisville, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
