Rita M. Gween
Age 89, of Minerva, died Sat. May, 31, 2014 in the Carroll Healthcare Center. She was born March 14, 1925 in Flemington, WV to Harry and Minnie (Rentsch) Waseman. She retired from TRW Metals in Minerva where she had worked for 30 years, having started when they opened the doors as Kolcast in 1956, and was a 1944 graduate of Minerva High School.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Wayne "Kenny" Gween whom she married Aug. 15, 1963, daughter, Cindy Marrs of Minerva, stepdaughter, Pamela (Paul) Drotovick of Cambridge, stepson, Jeffery Gween of Atlanta, GA, 5 grandchildren, Joe (fiance, Amanda Mackey), Lydia, Sarah, and Jason Gardner and Matthew Drotovick and a great granddaughter, Hailey Gardner. She is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Julia Wilshire and Margaret Blose, 5 brothers, James, George, Harry, William and John Waseman and a granddaughter, Rachel Drotovick.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 1-3 and 6-8 pm.
