Richard L. Young

Age 77, of Minerva, died Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Cleveland Clinic-Mercy Hospital in Canton. He was born Jan. 31, 1944 in Canton to Chauncey and Pearl (Blackledge) Young. He retired from PCC Airfoils in Minerva where he was a lab tech. for 46 years. He was a member of the Brown Twp. Sportsman's Club and owner of Dick's Gun Shop and D&D game birds and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1962.

He is survived by his wife, Darla (Rodgers) Young whom he married Dec. 22, 1977, 2 sons, Brian Young and Paul Young, sister, Carol Jewell all of Minerva, 4 grandchildren, J. Patrick Patterson, Emily, Braden and Abigail Young, 2 great grandchildren, 3 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, several nieces and nephews and many very good friends.  He is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Fred Jewell.

Funeral services will Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in Dick's name.
