W. Richard Snyder
Age 73, of Minerva, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2016. He was born Dec. 30, 1942 in Canton to Stanley and Helen (Roudebush) Snyder. He was a farmer on the family dairy farm, taught English at Carrollton High School and had worked for Carrollton Graphics. He graduated from Minerva High School and received his Bachelor's in Education from Mount Union. He is a member of the Minerva First Christian Church where he had been an elder, a member of the choir and a Sunday School Teacher. He worked with the youth in the puppet ministry and coached basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Moinell "Midge" (Culler) Snyder whom he married in 1997, son Robert (Cindy) Snyder of Minerva, 2 stepdaughters, Marcella Stephens of Guilford Lake, Michelle Ward of Minerva, 3 sisters, Janice Weber of Chicago, Mary Lou (Bill) Ott of Lynchburg, TN, Linda (Jonathan) Butera of Louisville, grandson, Samuel Snyder, 3 step grandchildren, Cody, Madalyn, Jeremiah, 2 step great granddaughters, Emma and Evelyn.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Minerva First Christian Church in Minerva with Pastor Dale Roberts and Rev. Jonathan Butera officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Minerva First Christian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Hospice.
