Rick N. Horton

Age 68, of Minerva, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 in Aultman Hospital. He was born Jan. 1, 1953 in Oakpark, IL to Richard and Dorothy (Garman) Horton. He was the owner of Horton's Auto Body for 35 years, was a police officer for the Village of Minerva for 9 years, affectionately known as "Killer", was a park attendant for the Beaver Creek State Park and a substitute teacher for the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center. He is a member of Augusta Lodge #504 F&AM.  He graduated from West Branch High School in 1971 and was an avid pilot and loved to fly.

Rick is survived by his wife, Sue (McGee) Horton whom he married June 9, 1990, 2 daughters, Criss (Doug) Kubankin of Carrollton, Charnell (Keith) Smith of Alliance, son, Richard (Tiffany) Horton of East Rochester, 3 sisters, Sheri Frenden of TN, Debbie (Bill) Clarida of AZ, Kim (Tom) Melzer of AZ, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 noon in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Ted Fellows officiating.  Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.  Calling hours will be 2 hours prior to services from 10-12 noon.
