Richard Donald Handwork

Age 84, of Good Hope, GA, passed away on April 29, 2026. He was born April 27, 1942, in Salem, Ohio. He led a varied career from tow truck driver, Navy reservist, boiler operator, boiler and machinery inspector and auto mechanic. He was dedicated to lifelong learning on many varied subjects ranging from theology, alternative medicines and mechanical tooling.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Conradene (Callahan) Handwork; his wife of 45 years, Joyce (Leatherberry) who passed in 2010 and son Michael. He is survived by his son, Jeff (Maria); daughter-in-law, Jessica and his grandsons Joseph, Logan, Danny, Seanan, Nolan and Eamonn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at the Gotschall Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva, Ohio with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.
