Richard "Rick" Crawford

age 65, of Minerva, died Monday, April 10, 2017 in his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1951 in East Liverpool to Marybelle (Dailey) Crawford of Millport and the late Charles Crawford. He retired from the Minerva Local Schools where he had been a teacher and guidance counselor for 29 years.  He started his career in South Central Local where he had worked for 6 years. He graduated from Southern Local High School in 1969, received his Bachelor's in Education from Bowling Green and his Master's in School Counseling from Bowling Green. He is a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Julie (Taucher) Crawford whom he married June 2, 2012, 2 sons, Ryan (Andrea Crabtree) Crawford of Columbus, Matthew Crawford of Columbus, stepdaughter, Mary Demarest of Salem, stepson, Eli (Brittany) Jacobs of Salem, 4 sisters, Karen Emerick of Millport, Carla (Scott) Sabatino of Hanoverton, Teresa (Jim) Arrasmith of Minerva, Becky Jo (Mark) Boice of Vermillion, brother, Michael (Deb) Crawford of Lisbon, 2 grandsons, Jaxson Jacobs and Liam Demarest and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister, Linda McIntosh.

Funeral services will be Friday at 7:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Tom Allmon officiating. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7 pm prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation.
