Rich McDaniel

Age 82, of Minerva, died Thursday, February 1, 2018 in the Alliance Community Care. He was born in Minerva on November 15, 1935 to Iniel Alvin and Hannah M. (Treacher) McDaniel. He was an engineer for APV Industries and had worked for Diebold in Canton. He was a member of the Navy Reserves, the owner of the M & G Sign Company and a member of the Canton Baptist Temple. He was longtime member of the Minerva Lions Club and now Minerva Civic Club where he would be seen every year behind the grill at the local Minerva Homecoming. He volunteered at the Alliance Hospice and enjoyed traveling all over the world and riding his motorcycle.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janey (Davis) McDaniel who died Nov. 1, 2007 and a sister, Coralyce Calderone. He is survived by 2 sons, Gregory (Sharon) McDaniel of Minerva, Garry McDaniel of Minerva; a brother, Roger (Sally) McDaniel of Minerva; 2 grandchildren, Tricia McDaniel, Lindsey (Danny) Cruise and 3 great grandchildren, Liam, Lyvia and Grace.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 6:00 pm at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Hutton officiating. Calling hours will be 2 hours prior from 4-6 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alliance Hospice.
