Renee L. Smith

Age 70, of Minerva, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 in Aultman Hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1947 in Canton to the late H. Dale and Martha Jane (Temple) Forbes. She retired from Salem Hospital where she worked in the lab for 38 years. She graduated from Southern Local High School in 1966 and is a member of the Minerva United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James Smith whom she married June 8, 1966, daughter, Shelly (Rich) Ridzon of Carrollton, son, Ryan (Heather) Smith of Minerva, 2 sisters, Dana (Richard) Beadnell, Shirlee Rae (Steve) Jarrett, 2 brothers, Randy (Laura) Forbes and Shawn (Kathy) Forbes all of Salineville, 4 grandchildren; Alyssa, Rylan and Ruger Smith and Wyatt Ridzon. She is preceded in death by a sister, Darla Madison and 2 brothers, Richard and William Forbes.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am in the Minerva United Methodist Church with Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicstown Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Thursday 5-8 at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home and Friday one hour prior to services at the church.
