Raymond D. "Dan" Trussel

Age 70, of Paris, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022 in Aultman Alliance Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 19, 1951 in Canton to Robert and Nova Jean (Legett) (Trussel) Grogg Sr. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1969 and served in the US Army from 1971-1973 in the 13 ^th Armored Division as a helicopter repairman.  He earned the National Defense Service Medal.  He is a past trustee of the Minerva Eagles #2199 and a member of the VFW Post #4120 in Minerva.

He worked at Structural Stoneware in Minerva before moving to Texas where he worked for the State Highway Dept. He returned to Minerva in the 1990's and worked for 15 years at the US Ceramic Tile in East Sparta and then PCC Airfoils in Minerva.  He was the owner of Outback Mower Repair before retiring due to failing health.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Diana (Craft) (Wartman) (Henning) Trussel; sons, Brandon (Angie) Trussel of Minerva, Randal "Scott" (Leesa) Trussel of East Canton; daughter, Jennifer Barney of Rockdale, TX; 2 stepsons, Jeffrey (Sonya) Wartman of Hartville, Michael (Rachael) Wartman of Burghill, OH; 5 brothers, Robert (Sandy) Trussel Jr. of Minerva, Joseph (Debbie) Trussel of Minerva, David (Ann) Trussel of Augusta, John (Renee) Trussel of Columbus, Thomas (Lori) Trussel of Minerva; 2 sisters, Betty Griffith of Minerva, Jo Ellen Scarberry of FL; 12 grandchildren, Kolton Trussel, Skylar Trussel, Sierra Barney, Dakota Barney, Logan (Chelsey) Wartman, Drake Wartman, Mikal Wartman, Jace Wartman, Athena Wartman, Benjamin Wartman, Haleigh Hostetter and Christopher Little; 4 great grandchildren, Raynlynn, Luka, Mikah, Kade and many nieces, nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved stepfather, Robert Grogg; and 2 brothers, Frank and Timothy Trussel.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 12 ^th at 11:00 am in the Minerva VFW.  Full military honors will be at 12 noon followed by fellowship in the VFW social hall.   Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
