Rachel F. Rice

Age 97, of Paris, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 in her home.  She was born April 16, 1926 in Paris to Emmett and Verda (Speakman) Myers.  She was a homemaker and member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Franklin.  She went to Paris Elementary through the 8th grade and then graduated from Louisville High School in 1944.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, John C. Reed in 1979 and Rev. Donald Rice in 2019.  She is survived by 3 sons, John Reed of Paris, James (Jacki) Reed of Minerva, Dennis Reed of Paris, brother, Howard Myers of Paris, 6 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Wally Anderson officiating.  Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.  Calling hours will be 2 hours prior to services on Wednesday from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
