Phyllis A. McKarns

Age 96, of Minerva and formerly Salineville, died Saturday, March 4, 2023 in McCrae Manor in Alliance.  She was born Jan. 26, 1927 in East Rochester to Carl and Lydia (Buckey) Ruff. She graduated from Minerva High School in 1944 where she was inducted into the National Honor Society.  She has been a member of the New Alexander Christian Church since birth.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford McKarns who died in 2013, 2 sisters, Barbara Ince and Doris Kirkpatrick, brother, Lester Ruff.  She is survived by 2 daughters, Noreen (Gary) Peterson of Beloit, Tracey (Denny) Pierson of Minerva, 2 sons, Thomas (Lorraine) Norris of Hanoverton, Jerry (Deb) Norris of Minerva, 12 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and she also enjoyed a large stepfamily.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Ed. Blackburn officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery.  Calling hours will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home from 10-11 am.
