Peter Clear Jr.
Age 87, of Minerva, died Sunday October 16, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. He was born May 14, 1929 in Neffs, Ohio, to Peter and Anna (Godsy) Clear. He retired from the Ford Motor Company after 34 years where he was a straightener/press operator. He was a trustee at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and served on several committees. He enjoyed farming, gardening, watching cowboy movies and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Mason) Clear whom he married July 22, 2000, 2 daughters, Joyce (Craig) Wadsworth of Malvern, Christine (Tony) Randal of Minerva, 5 sons, Michael (Jenevieve) Clear of Carrollton, Bill (Shannon) Clear of Pataskala, OH, Dan (Debbie) Clear of Malvern, Mark (Laura) Clear of Minerva, Jerry (Cande) Campbell of Grayson, KY, brother, Wayne (Terry) Clear of Mississippi, 22 Grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and his loving dog George.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Martha, sisters, Delcy Blon and Mary Lough, brothers, Daniel, Timmons, Bert, Jiltz and James Clear.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday 6 to 8 at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
