Pauline Mae Crowl
Age 95 of Salem died Tuesday June 28, 2011 in Blossom Nursing and Rehab in Salem. She was born May 20, 1916 in Rogers to Harry and Helen (Butler) Clark. She was a homemaker, but at the age of 60 she started to work in nursing homes in the area including the Old County Home in Lisbon and Pleasant View in Lisbon and Damascas. She enjoyed her job very much and never met a stranger. She lived in the Blossom Nursing and Rehab Center the past three years where they all loved her deeply and was fondly known as "The Boss" or "Grandma Pickle".
She is preceded in death by her husband whom she married in March 17, 1934; Thomas Crowl who died in 1979, two sons; Donald and Thomas Crowl, two sons-in-law; Bill Carnahan and James Ludt, a sister; Betty Bowers and two brothers; Robert and Charles Clark and friend John LeBeau. She is survived by two daughters; Susan Carnahan of Kensington and JoAnn Ludt of Salem, two sons; Earl "Pete" (Sally) Crowl of Salem and Dale "Jake" (Marie) Crowl of Akron, brother; James Clark of E. Palestine, 20 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
According to Pauline's wishes, there will be no calling hours or service. She will be buried in East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers. Memorial contributions may be made to MVI Home Care at 4891 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH 44505 in Pauline's name.
