Paul Plott, age 89, of Minerva, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 in Minerva Eldercare. He was born Oct. 20, 1923 in New Market, MD to Monroe and Bessie (Droneburg) Plott. He was a beef farmer and retired from the James River Corp. in Minerva where he worked for 36 years. He is a member of the Christian Life Center in Minerva.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Ebling) Plott whom he married Dec. 8, 1979; 2 daughters, Nerissa (Rich) Marino of Navarre and Kaye Plott of the home; 4 sons, David (Camella) Plott of Minerva, Samuel (Chris) Plott of Minerva, Joseph (Mel) Plott of Okinawa, Japan and John Plott of Alexandria, VA; 2 sisters, June (Marc) Tilmant of Kensington and Marlene (Ben) Abrams of Canton; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and his five favorite dogs.
He is preceded in death by a stepson, Stanley Warne; sister, Priscilla Crawford; 3 brothers, John "E.J." Plott, Monroe Plott, Jr. and Clyde Plott.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Christian Life Center in Minerva with Rev. Tim Gropp officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
