Patrick Francis O’Shell, age 85, of Alliance, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center peacefully with his wife Sally by his side. He was born January 15, 1941 in Akron, Ohio to Martin Luther and Mary Margaret (Conley) O’Shell.
He retired from East Manufacturing in Randolph, Ohio where he worked in shipping and receiving for 35 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of the Fireside Sam’s Camping Club for many years.
Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose love for his family was the foundation of his life. Selfless by nature, he always placed the happiness and well-being of those he loved before his own. He made sure his family never doubted how much they meant to him. His steadfast and enduring love for his wife, Sally, was an inspiration to everyone who knew them.
A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Sally (Imhoff) O’Shell whom he married on May 20, 1989, 2 daughters, Lori (Grover) Vaught of Hiram, Gena (Michael) Chappell of Concord Twp., 3 sons, John (Mi) Whitsel of Canton, Jim Whitsel of Ravenna, Craig Speedy of Houston, TX, 8 grandchildren; Rachel (Dan) Good, Valori Vaught, Harriet Whitsel, Aiden Chappell, William Whitsel, Michael Speedy, Courtney (Tyler) Hart, Zack Speedy and 6 great-grandchildren; Patrick, James, Dravyn, Te’Rell, Talaysia and Daphne, as well as his beloved niece Kathy (Don) Tarle. He is preceded in death by his sister, Iris Nadine Pyle, grandson, Bradley Durst and his little dog, Lacey, who never missed a camping trip.
Calling hours will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva, Ohio on Monday, July 6th, followed by funeral services at 1:00 pm officiated by Michael Galarneau.
