Patricia J. Burman, age 79, of Minerva, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 in Aultman Hospital. She was born Aug. 16, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI to Milo and Marjorie (Hess) Black. She was the clinical director for the OB Ward at St. Joseph's Hospital in South Bend, IN and retired from Aultman Hospital where she was a pediatric nurse in the NICU unit. She is a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva where she was a member of the Catholic Women's Club. She graduated from the Hanna Mullins School of Nursing in Salem and, at age 50, received her Bachelor's in Nursing from Nazarene College in Kalamazoo, MI. She is a member of the Entre Nous Club and the San Souci Club. She loved playing bridge, sewing and knitting. Her grandchildren brought her life great joy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Burman who died in 2006, 2 infant sons, Patrick and Joseph and a granddaughter, Anna. She is survived by a daughter, Cindi (Duane) Benner of East Rochester, 2 sons, Mike (Lois) Burman of Peru, IN, and Jeff (Lisa) Burman of Minerva, 9 grandchildren, Stacey (Steve) Smith, Chad (Chris) Burman, Craig (Danielle) Benner, Caitie Burman, Andrew (Leslie), Aaron, Arec, Ava and Audra Burman, and 3 great grandchildren, Bella, Owen and Toby.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 5-8 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Aultman Hospital NICU Unit.
