Norma Jean Vestrand, of Minerva, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 in the Arbors at Minerva. She was born February 19, 1931 in Macksburg, Ohio to Bede and Mildred (Tilton) Lori. She worked at Walker's Corner Restaurant for 25 years. She is a member of Carrollton Baptist Temple, the Gideon's Society Aux. and graduated from Pleasant City High School in 1949.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Vestrand whom she married Dec. 6, 1991; 2 stepdaughters, Diana Lynne Vestrand of San Diego, CA and Mary Elizabeth Vestrand of Washington, D.C.; son, Dennis (Patricia) Rogers of Newark; 2 stepsons, Robert Jason (Kimberly) Vestrand of Charleston SC, Mark Evin Vestrand Cave Creek, AZ; sister, JoAnn Moore of Cambridge; 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Rogers, who died in 1988; daughter, Patricia J. Rogers; stepson, R.W. Austin II; brother-in-law, Herbert Moore; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Lori.
A Celebration of Going Home will be held Saturday at 11am at Carrollton Baptist Temple with Pastor David Powell and Pastor Nathan Snode officiating. Burial will be held at East Lawn Cemetery in Minerva. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Refuge of Hope (405 3rd St. NE, Canton OH 44702).
