Norma Jean (Gotschall) (Amos) DeRocle

Age 92, passed away on May 14, 2017, in St. Cloud, FL.  She was born June 20, 1924 in Carrollton, OH to her late parents Zue Esther Leyda and Corwin Edward Gotschall.  She graduated in 1942 from Augusta High School.  She was a retired secretary, working for several businesses in the Minerva area.  In retirement, she split her time between St. Cloud, FL and Industry, ME.  She was preceded in death by husband Victor Amos in 1991, whom she married in 1943; brother Corwin, Jr.; sisters Evelyn Deprill of Alliance and Frances Kump of Minerva; niece Deborah Deprill of Alliance; and nephew Keith Deprill of Salem.

While living in Minerva she was a member of Sans Souci Women's Club.  She was a 30-yr. member of Order of Eastern Star, Carroll Chapter #315.  In 1969 Norma was instrumental in acquiring the charter for the Minerva Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post #4120.  She was the first President of Post #4120 Auxiliary and also a Lifetime Member.  She was also a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farmington, ME.

She is survived by husband, Joseph DeRocle whom she married in 1996; nieces Kim (Rex) Minneman of Cary, NC, Judi Barnes and Joy Taylor of North Canton, Vicki (Warren) Bradley of Davenport, FL, and Jackie (Jack) Yoder of Webster, NY.  Also surviving are stepchildren, Mary (Lester) Butler of Fort Myers, FL and Michael (Eula) DeRocle of Norridgewock, ME; step-grandsons Joseph Butler (fiance Joanna Gordon) of Gorham, ME and Ryan DeRocle of Norridgewock, ME; and step-granddaughter, Katherine Butler (Dave Ehrenzeller) of Fort Myers, FL.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 noon in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral in Minerva with Fr. Victor Cinson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Minerva. Calling hours will be 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home from 10 am to 12 noon. Eastern Star services will be 11:45am.
