Nelson D. Carman

Age 83, of Minerva, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born Aug. 10, 1940 in Steubenville to John and Mildred (Russell) Carman. He retired from Republic Steel where he had worked for 32 years.  He is a member of the Lighthouse Nazarene Church in Minerva.  He graduated from Southern Local High School in 1958. He loved golfing and was a member of the Great Trail Golf Course and loved white water rafting and being with his family. He is a US Army Veteran having served for two years at Ft. Hood in Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Roberta (Brown) Carman whom he married May 5, 1972, son, Richard (Kimberly) Carman of Massillon, Jeffrey (Monica) Carman of NC, brother, Tom (Leigh) Carman of East Liverpool, sister, Joann (Gary) Lyons of Lisbon, sister-in-law, Chris Kress, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Larry Carman Sr., Wayne Carman Sr., sister, Willa Stewart.

A graveside service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery with full military honors.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.  The family would like to thank the Aultman Compassionate Care Center and Aultman Hospice for all of their support and care.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
