Nancy (Dye) Schott
Age 85, of Lake Mohawk/Malvern, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Inn at University Village in Massillon after many years of declining health. She was born Nov. 22, 1938 in North Lawrence to Frank and Blanche (Roby) Dye. She retired from Superior Technologies in Canton. She is a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern and the Catholic Women's Club and the Red Hat Society. She graduated from Canal Fulton High School in 1956. She loved cooking, baking and candy making. Her other hobbies included sewing, Swedish weave, dominoes and playing cards. She was a member of many card clubs over the years as well as Lake Mohawk Jr. Women's Club, St. Francis Xavier Women's Club, Lake Mohawk Water Ski Club and the inaugural Luau committee.
They loved wintering wintering in Florida, Jan 2000 through March 2023, and loved the friends that became family at Rainbow, Frostproof, FL.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Schott whom she married April 25, 1959, 3 daughters, Barbara Schott of Canton, Vicki Franzen of Ft. Myers, FL, Judi (Michael) Frank of Dalton, son, Ron (Sheri) Schott of Malvern, sister, Mildred (Rex) Harris of Canal Fulton, brother, Richard (Bev) Dye of North Canton, 7 grandchildren; Brian (Becky) Frank, Sarah (Brian) Grafton, Alex (Heather) Franzen, Jake (Abby) Franzen, Zach, Josh and Ashley Schott and 6 great grandchildren; Lila, Leo, Amelia, Ellie, Elijah and Adalynn. She is preceded in death by in laws, Larry and Gertrude Schott, 3 sisters, Doris Rohr, Pauline Huffstetler, Mary Ellen Steiner and a brother Ervin Dye and son-in-law, Mark Franzen.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 pm at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern where a wake service will be held at 7:45 pm and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. The family would like to thank the staff at the Inn at University Village for their wonderful care over the last year. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Building Fund of Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care in lieu of flowers.
