Geraldine Horn

Myrtle Geraldine Horn, passed away January 16, 2023 at the home of her son in Carrollton, Ohio. She was born May 17, 1923 at Nogo, Arkansas to the late David Alva Mathis and Lou Dora (Pack) Mathis.  In addition to her parents, Geraldine is preceded in death by her husband Nolan Bryce Horn, son, William Glenn Shoffit, brothers, Grover Glenn Mathis and Joe Kenneth Mathis, sister, Lucille Nadine (Mathis) Wallace, great grandson, Aaron Richard Cairns and a great granddaughter Brianna Lynn Allen.

Geraldine is survived by a son, Gary Leon Horn, grandson, Cory Jason Horn, granddaughters, Tammy Jo (Shoffit) Cairns, Terri Lynn Shoffit, great grandson, Bryce Nolan Horn, great granddaughters, Kendall Paige Horn, Maia Kinsey, Amber Renee (Cairns) Dolak, Emily Kaitlyn Cairns, Olivia Haley (Cairns) Davis, great great grandchildren, Brantley Aaron Dolak, and Ryleigh Dolak, all of Ohio, and a sister Sylvia Watts of Jerusalem, Arkansas.

Geraldine was a great Christian example, having been saved and baptized in August 1949 along with 43 others. She loved to garden and grow flowers until she couldn't due to her health. She also loved to sew.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 7:30 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating.  Calling hours will be Thursday from 6-7:30 pm prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow next week in the Nogo Cemetery, Pope County, Arkansas by Shinn Funeral Home.
